I am sooo creative… I took a pair of black corduroy (maternity) trousers and made, well, a smaller pair of black corduroy trousers WWTGS (what would Tim Gunn Say). I wore these trousers all the time when I was pregnant but I can’t find a picture anywhere and I forgot to take a picture before I cut them up.
Sometimes simple is better. The pattern is from MADE by Rae and I added no embellishments. They are going to be paired with a top made from the chicken print so I figured there was enough craziness in that. Also this way they will go with pretty much anything! Oh hang on a second did I say no embellishments… what’s this I spy? a bunting label? Yep I manned up and had a crack at it.
Annoyingly the last few tags slipped when I finished closing the waistband seam so its far from perfect, but hey when did a bit of imperfection ever hurt anyone? Perhaps when I have some patience and haven’t spent ages at the sewing machine I will unpick the seam and tuck the label in a bit more!
Maybe I could blame the cat for the dodgy sewing? It’s hard to sew when you only have 3 legs, she mostly sits and reads out the instructions from the pattern.
I made the 3-6 months size and turned up the legs by 2 inches as the little dude is only just coming up to 3 months.
He seems pretty pleased with them!
Adorable! I think you should leave the tags, they make the pants special. And with that sweet baby in them! Who cares?
CUTE! Love the bunting label in there too…so sweet!
